Brief history Launched as Plants Plus in 1991 and becoming part of the Danks organisation in 1995, the Plants Plus group has grown dramatically from a co-operative to the only national garden centre brand in Australia today. With over 65 stores right across Australia, Plants Plus comprises one of the most visible brands in the garden centre market.

Product Sourcing Through a sophisticated distribution network that services every part of Australia, Danks is able to offer an impressive 25,000 product lines sourced from 600 suppliers such as Yates, Richgro, Nylex, Talon and Hills just to name a few. There is a further 200,000 other products available on chargeback. This has the added benefit of allowing Danks member stores to place the one order, receive one delivery and pay one account for a significant portion of their inventory requirements. To make things even easier for you, individual product details can be viewed on our product explorer service that is available to members over a dedicated extranet.

As well as having access to fully trained horticultural staff, Plants Plus members will also have access to dedicated Business Managers who will assist you to optimise the performance of your business along with other experts in areas such as trade, store development, business systems and marketing all on call to help.

Danks Exclusive Brands (DEBs) complement the current extensive Dank’s offering by helping retailers maintain an edge in the marketplace with competitive price-points that deliver higher margins and bigger profits across the garden care, garden tools, power garden and outdoor categories. Supported by catalogue promotion, in-store materials and advertising support, the DEB product ranges are designed to specifically maximise retailer profits. With brands such as Earthcore, Del Terra and Red Centre, there are currently over 2000 DEBs products on offer exclusive only to Danks customers.

DART (Danks Advanced Retail Technology) is an industry leading point of sale and back office software package designed specifically for Danks Group Members. DART helps Plants Plus Members streamline their business management practices from product ordering, price ticketing and shelf labels through to full accounting and general ledger reporting. As a Plants Plus member, Danks will manage and ensure the smooth installation of your DART system with minimum impact on the daily operation of your business, and will provide a comprehensive training program and ongoing support by experience Danks staff.

Store Development Plants Plus Group Members have access to store development services based on extensive knowledge of store design and retailing excellence gained in the competitive field of Garden Centre retailing. Our dedicated and highly specialised Store Development team will be able to provide comprehensive shop design, planning and implementation by managing the complete refurbishment.

Biannual conference Danks has clearly set the industry standard with its biannual conference. Aimed at the entire family, the biannual conference allows you valuable networking opportunity with other Plants Plus Members in a relaxed and fun environment. The conference also provides a forum for store principals to discuss strategic issues and become involved in decision making for the benefit of the entire group. Previous conferences have been held on the Gold Coast in 2007 and Sydney in 2005. Each member store is eligible to receive free accommodation to the equivalent of one hotel room for the duration of the conference.
