Harmony Garden Centre has been under the current family ownership for twenty one years, 19 years as a traditional retail independent Garden Centre.
In April 2006 Harmony Garden Centre joined the Plants Plus group. We had reached the point of being just a garden centre, we could see that our customers were looking and demanding more from us and were unsure of how to take the next step. We knew that we wanted to be more of a lifestyle centre and wanted to help our clientele decorate that out-door room, without losing touch with the everyday garden lover.
Plants Plus offered the expertise and tools to achieve this, their professionalism was second to none, in a short time we had our action plan. This enabled us to have a clear non disruptive changeover and improve our business operations with a focus on pricing strategy, product range, stock control, improved signage, the know-how of merchandising our stock and a sound promotional plan which ensured our businesses growth of 30% in two years.
Joining the Plants Plus group has secured our future within the Garden Centre Market, with our investment in the John Dank´s store development program, this service has designed a new purposely built Garden Centre to be built on the current site. The Dank´s store development program has provided us with the necessary architecture, negotiations, store design, store layout, development costs, provided us with a professional precise plan inevitably saving us thousands of dollars.

We have been members of the Plants Plus group for 10 years. There are huge advantages being in the group, namely being able to source most of the dry goods in any quantities from the Danks warehouse, being able to purchase plants from preferred suppliers and able to chargeback through Danks, thus paying only one account at the end of the month, and networking with other Plants Plus stores at meetings, many of whom have become really good friends. Sending out high quality catalogues is good for business and we receive extra support through quarterly magazines and calendars. The staff at John Danks are always willing to help and advise as needed.
